Therefore whatever they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do.

And having come to the other, he said likewise. And he answered and said, 'I am going, sir,' but he did not go.

saying: "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat.

For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they do not desire to move them with their finger.

But Peter and the apostles answered, and said: "We must obey God rather than men.

Let every soul submit to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except by God, and the authorities that exist are instituted by God.

having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from these people turn away!

They profess to know God, but in their works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
