it seemed good to me also, having followed up accurately all things from above, to write to you in orderly fashion, most distinguished Theophilus,

Since many have attempted to arrange a narrative about the matters which have taken place among us,

The former account I made concerning all things, O Theophilus, which Jesus began both to do and teach,
