Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and was baptizing more disciples than John
"And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Highest; for you will go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
And if anyone asks you, 'Why are you loosing him?' thus you shall say to him, 'Because the Lord has need of him.' "
And they said, "The Lord has need of him."
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep."
And summoning two of his disciples, John sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?"
After these things Jesus, along with His disciples, came into the land of Judea, and there He was stayed with them and He was baptizing.
And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified--behold, this Man is baptizing, and all men are coming to Him!"
