Then He came to Simon Peter. And Peter said to Him, "Lord, do You wash my feet?"

When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!"

He is the One who comes after me, who has come to be before me, of whom I am not worthy that I should loose the strap of His sandal."

Then He poured water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples, and to dry them with the towel with which He was girded.

Jesus answered and said to him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you shall know after this."
