Acts 23:9

And there came to be a great outcry, and the scribes of the Pharisees' party stood up and contended sharply, saying, "We find no evil in this man; but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God."

And the scribes and Pharisees, seeing Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, said to His disciples, "Why does He eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?"

Then he said to them the third time, "Why, what evil did He do? I have found no guilt deserving death in Him. Therefore when I have flogged Him, I will release Him."

But Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, "I find no guilt in this Man."

And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, "Why do You eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?"

Therefore the crowd which was standing and heard were saying that it had thundered. Others were saying, "An angel has spoken to Him."

"If then God has given to them the same gift as He gave to us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to be able to hinder God?"

Now it happened, as I was going and approaching Damascus, about midday, suddenly from heaven a great light shone about me.

And I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to me, 'Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?'

and I found that he was accused concerning questions of their law, but had no accusation against him worthy of death or chains.

For Sadducees say that there is no resurrection--nor angel nor spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.

But when I came to understand him to have done nothing worthy of death, and also he had appealed to His Majesty the Emperor, I decided to send him.

and when they withdrew, they were speaking among themselves, saying, "This man practices nothing worthy of death or chains."

For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong, whom also I serve,

but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it--lest you even be found to fight against God."

And falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?
