And those conducting Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy, that as quickly as possible they should come to him, they departed.

Therefore, being sent forth by the church, they were passing through Phoenicia and Samaria, telling in detail about the conversion of the Gentiles; and they were causing great joy to all the brothers.

Then immediately the brothers sent Paul away, to go toward the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there.

And in Athens, while Paul waited for them, his spirit was provoked within him when he saw that the city was full of idols.

Now all the Athenians and the strangers staying there as visitors spent their time in nothing other than to say or to hear some new thing.

Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, "Men, Athenians, according to all things I perceive you as being very religious;

Now after these things, having departed from Athens, Paul came to Corinth.

Now when both Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, solemnly bearing witness to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.

Therefore, when we could no longer endure it, we were well pleased to be left behind in Athens alone,

Whenever I shall send Artemas to you, or Tychicus, hasten to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there.
