for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a considerable crowd was added to the Lord.

A good man out of his good treasure brings forth good things, and an evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things.

So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."

And behold, there was a man named Joseph, a council member, a good and just man

And there was much murmuring among the crowds concerning Him. Some on the one hand were saying, "He is a good Man"; while others were saying, "No, on the contrary, He deceives the people."

Therefore, brothers, select seven men from among you, of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint for this need.

And the word was pleasing before all the congregation, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,

And Stephen, full of faith and power, was performing great wonders and signs among the people.

Then the churches throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were edified, and going in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, were multiplying.

And I write more boldly to you brothers, in part, as reminding you, because of the grace having been given to me by God,

For scarcely on behalf of a righteous man will anyone die; yet on behalf of the good, perhaps someone might even dare to die.
