Because the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
Jesus said to him, "You said it. Nevertheless, I say to you, from now on, you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven."
who also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him going into heaven."
But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, both the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up.
Yet Michael the archangel, when taking issue with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, dared not to bring a railing accusation, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, and those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will wail because of Him. Even so, Amen!.
And I heard a voice out of heaven saying, "Write: 'Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on,' "Yes," says the Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow with them."
And I saw, and I heard an eagle flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe for those who dwell on the earth, from the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are to sound their trumpets!"
