as indeed you know how each one of you, as a father to his own children, we exhorted, and comforted you, and imploring you,

And going through those parts, and encouraging them with many words, he came to Greece

This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,

But we proved to be gentle in your midst, as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.

Finally then, brothers, we request of you and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you should abound more.

that no one should transgress against and to defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger concerning all, just as we told you before and solemnly testified.

Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.

Now we exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the discouraged, be supportive of the weak, be patient toward all.

Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things?

And to such people we command and urge by our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.

I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing according to partiality.

And these things command, so that they may be blameless.

I charge you before God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate,

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to put their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who provides all things richly for us to enjoy,

And those having believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers, but rather let them serve as slaves, because those receiving the good service are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.

Speak these things, exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.

Likewise exhort the young men to be sensible,

Exhort bondservants to be subject to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not talking back,

And I appeal to you, brothers, bear with the word of exhortation, for briefly I wrote to you.

I have no greater joy than these things, that I hear that my children are walking in truth.
