This is what the Lord says: “I will tell you what I will do for all the people that live around the land of Israel. Those people are very wicked. They have destroyed the land I gave to the people of Israel. I will pull those evil people up and throw them out of their land. And I will pull the people of Judah up with them.
I will send you down into that deep hole—to the place where dead people are. You will join the people that died long ago. I will send you to the world below, like all the other old, empty cities. You will be with all the others that go down to the grave. No one will live in you then. You will never again be in the land of the living!
The Lord says these things: “I will definitely punish \{the people of\} Edom {\cf2\super [21]} for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [22]} Why? Because Edom chased his brother (Israel) with the sword. Edom showed no mercy. Edom’s anger continued forever—he kept tearing and tearing \{at Israel like a wild animal\}.
The Lord says these things: “I will definitely punish \{the people of\} Ammon {\cf2\super [25]} for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [26]} Why? Because they killed the pregnant women in Gilead. {\cf2\super [27]} The Ammonite people did this so they could \{take that land\} and make their country larger.
The Lord says these things: “I will definitely punish \{the people of\} Tyre {\cf2\super [18]} for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [19]} Why? Because they took an entire nation and sent them as slaves to Edom. {\cf2\super [20]} They did not remember the agreement they had made with their brothers (Israel).
They will use their swords\par and rule the Assyrians.\par They will rule the land of Nimrod {\cf2\super [65]} \par with swords in hand.\par They will use their swords\par to rule those people.\par But then \{the Ruler of Israel\}\par will save us from the Assyrians\par who will come into our land\par and trample our territory.\par
