David, I will make your family\par continue forever.\par I will make your kingdom continue\par forever and ever.”\par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [504]})\i0 \par
The Lord decided to crush him. The Lord decided that he must suffer, so the Servant gave himself to be the one to die. But he will live a new life for a long, long time. He will see his people. He will complete the things the Lord wants him to do.
The Lord says, “I will make an Agreement with those people. I promise, my Spirit and my words that I put in your mouth will never leave you. They will be with your children and your children’s children. They will be with you for now and forever.”
Power and peace will be in his kingdom. It will continue to grow for this king from David’s family. This king will use goodness and fair judgment to rule the kingdom forever and ever.
The Lord says, “I have an agreement with day and night. I agreed that they will continue forever. You can’t change that agreement. Day and night will always come at the right time. If you could change that agreement,
then you could change my Agreement with David and Levi. Then descendants {\cf2\super [280]} from David would not be the kings and the family of Levi would not be priests.
The Lord my Master made a promise. He promised by his holiness, that troubles will come to you. People will use hooks and take you away as prisoners. They will use fishhooks to take away your children.
The people said, “But our law says that the Christ {\cf2\super [201]} will live forever. So why do you say, ‘The Son of Man {\cf2\super [202]} must be lifted up’? Who is this ‘Son of Man’?”
