Oh, those people caused God\par so many troubles in the desert!\par They made him so sad!\par

Why? Because those people fought against\par the things God said.\par They refused to listen to the advice\par from God Most-High.\par

But the people continued to sin against God.\par They turned against God Most-High even in the desert.\par

If the people teach their God’s commands\par to their children,\par then the children will not be like\par their ancestors. {\cf2\super [444]} \par Their ancestors turned against God.\par They refused to obey him.\par Those people were stubborn.\par They were not loyal to God’s Spirit.\par

But the people turned against the Lord.\par They made his Holy Spirit very sad.\par So the Lord became their enemy.\par The Lord fought against those people.\par

Then Isaiah said, “Family of David, {\cf2\super [85]} listen very carefully! You test the people’s patience—and this is not important to you. So, now you test my God’s patience.

The Lord spoke to Moses. He said, “How long will these people continue to turn against me? They show that they don’t trust me. They show that they don’t believe in my power. They refuse to believe me, even after I have shown them many powerful signs. I have done many great things among them.

“Don’t forget that you made the Lord your God angry in the desert! You have refused to obey the Lord from the day you left the land of Egypt to the day you came to this place.
