May all nations rejoice and be happy!\par Why? Because you judge people fairly.\par And you rule over every nation.\par

Surely you would not destroy the city. You would not destroy 50 good people to kill the evil people. If that happened, then good people and evil people would be the same—they would both be punished. You are the judge of all the earth. I know you will do the right thing.”

If you ask me,\par I will give the nations to you.\par All the people on earth will be yours!\par

I (God) say,\par “You are gods.\par You are sons of God Most-High.\par

The Lord judges everyone on earth fairly.\par He judges all nations the same.\par

Announce to the nations\par that the Lord is King!\par So the world will not be destroyed.\par The Lord will rule the people fairly.\par

Rivers, clap your hands!\par All together now, mountains sing out!\par

Woman, be happy!\par You have not had any children.\par But you should be very happy!\par

I made David a witness of my power\par for all nations.\par I promised David that he would become\par a ruler and a commander of many nations.”\par

Herds of camels from Midian and Ephah\par will cross your land.\par Long lines of camels will come from Sheba.\par They will bring gold and incense.\par People will sing praises to the Lord.\par

God has decided a day when he will judge all the people in the world. He will be fair. He will use a man (Jesus) to do this. God chose this man long ago. And God has proved this to every person; God proved it by raising that man from death!”

But you people are hard and stubborn. You refuse to change. So you are making your own punishment greater and greater. You will get that punishment on the day when God will show his anger. On that day people will see God’s right judgments.

The Scriptures {\cf2\super [56]} say,

“The whole world should be happy for God’s people! {Why? Because he helps them}— he punishes people who kill his servants. He gives his enemies the punishment they deserve. And he makes his land and people pure. [217] ”
