So the men threw Jonah into the sea. The storm stopped—the sea became calm!

But the Lord brought a great storm on the sea. The wind made the sea very rough. The storm was very strong and the boat was ready to break apart.

When Jesus said, “I am Jesus,” the men moved back and fell to the ground.

Pilate answered, “I will not change what I have written.”

After the city clerk said these things, he told the people to go home. And all the people left.
