So the Lord will give me my reward!\par Why? Because I am innocent!\par The way God sees it,\par I did nothing wrong,\par so he will do good things for me.\par
People always use the name of someone greater than themselves to make a vow (promise). The vow proves that what they say is true. And this ends all arguing about what they say.
The Lord will reward you for all the good things you have done. You will be paid in full by the Lord, the God of Israel. You have come to him for safety, [10] {and he will protect you}.”
The Lord pays every man for the things he does—he rewards him if he does right, and he punishes him if he does wrong. The Lord let me defeat you today, but I wouldn’t hurt the Lord’s chosen king.
