So the Lord brought commanders from the king of Assyria’s army to attack Judah. Those commanders captured Manasseh and made him their prisoner. They put hooks in him and brass chains on his hands and took him to the country of Babylon.
I wish that day had stayed dark—\par as dark as death.\par I wish clouds would hide that day.\par I wish black clouds could\par scare away the light\par from the day I was born.\par
You will open the eyes of the blind people,\par and they will be able to see.\par Many people are in prison;\par you will free those people.\par Many people live in darkness;\par you will lead them out of that prison.\par
Those people lived in darkness. But they will see a great light. Those people lived in a place as dark as the place of death. But the “Great Light” willl shine on them.
So the king told some servants, ‘Tie this man’s hands and feet. Throw the man out into the darkness. In that place, people will cry and grind their teeth \{with pain\}.’
