God, you made your angels like the wind, {\cf2\super [542]} \par and your servants {\cf2\super [543]} like fire.\par
Elijah and Elisha were walking and talking together. Suddenly, some horses and a chariot [11] came and separated Elijah from Elisha. The horses and the chariot were like fire! Then Elijah was carried up into heaven in a whirlwind.
Then Elisha prayed and said, “Lord, I ask you, open my servant’s eyes so he can see.”
God made the fire and hail,\par the snow and smoke,\par and all the stormy winds.\par
That is what the animals looked like.
The angel said, “These are the four winds. {\cf2\super [16]} They have just come from the Master of the whole world.
(The Sadducees believe that after people die, they will not live again as an angel or as a spirit. But the Pharisees believe in both.)
All the angels are spirits who serve God and are sent to help those people who will receive salvation.
