Proverbs 30:15Easy To Read VersionSome people want to take everything they can get. All they say is, “Give me, give me, give me.” There are three things that are never satisfied—really four things that never have enough: See the chapter |
The Lord says these things: “I will definitely punish \{the people of\} Edom {\cf2\super [21]} for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [22]} Why? Because Edom chased his brother (Israel) with the sword. Edom showed no mercy. Edom’s anger continued forever—he kept tearing and tearing \{at Israel like a wild animal\}.
The Lord says these things: “I will definitely punish \{the people of\} Ammon {\cf2\super [25]} for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [26]} Why? Because they killed the pregnant women in Gilead. {\cf2\super [27]} The Ammonite people did this so they could \{take that land\} and make their country larger.
The Lord says these things: “I will definitely punish \{the people of\} Tyre {\cf2\super [18]} for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [19]} Why? Because they took an entire nation and sent them as slaves to Edom. {\cf2\super [20]} They did not remember the agreement they had made with their brothers (Israel).
The Lord says this: “I will definitely punish Judah for the many crimes they did. {\cf2\super [35]} Why? Because they refused to obey the Lord’s commands. They didn’t keep his commands. Their ancestors {\cf2\super [36]} believed \{lies\}. And those same lies caused the people of Judah to quit following God.
