Numbers 28:11Easy To Read Version“On the first day of each month you will offer a special burnt offering to the Lord. This offering will be 2 male bulls, 1 ram, and 7 lambs that are one year old. There must be nothing wrong with them. See the chapter |
I will build a temple {\cf2\super [11]} to honor the name of the Lord my God. At the temple we will burn incense {\cf2\super [12]} in front of the Lord, and we will always put the holy bread {\cf2\super [13]} on the special table. We will offer burnt offerings every morning and evening, every Sabbath day, every New Moon, {\cf2\super [14]} and on the other feast days that the Lord our God has commanded us to celebrate. This is a rule for the people of Israel to obey forever.
Solomon offered sacrifices {\cf2\super [140]} every day the way Moses commanded. Sacrifices were to be offered on Sabbath days, {\cf2\super [141]} on the New Moon {\cf2\super [142]} celebrations, and on the three yearly holidays. The three yearly holidays were the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Shelters.
This money will pay for the special bread that the priests put on the table in the temple. It will pay for the daily grain offerings and burnt offerings. It will pay for the offerings on the Sabbaths, New Moon {\cf2\super [63]} festivals, and other special meetings. It will pay for the holy offerings and for the sin offerings that make the people of Israel pure. {\cf2\super [64]} It will pay for any work needed on the temple of our God.\par
The ruler must give an ephah {\cf2\super [452]} of grain offering with the bull, and an ephah of grain offering with the ram. As for the grain offering with the lambs, the ruler can give as much as he wants. But he must give 1 hin {\cf2\super [453]} of olive oil for each ephah {\cf2\super [454]} of grain.
You businessmen say,\par “When will the New Moon {\cf2\super [101]} be over\par so we can sell grain?\par When will the Sabbath be over\par so we can bring our wheat \{to sell\}?\par We can raise the price\par and make the measure smaller. {\cf2\super [102]} \par We can adjust the scales\par and cheat the people. {\cf2\super [103]} \par
Also you should blow these trumpets for your special meetings, new moon days, and all your happy times together. Blow the trumpets when you give your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. This will be a special way for the Lord your God to remember you. I command you to do this; I am the Lord your God.”
