Why are you making plans against\par the Lord?\par He will bring complete destruction,\par so \{you\} will not cause trouble again!\par

Amasa didn’t pay any attention to the sword that was in Joab’s {left} hand. But then Joab stabbed Amasa in the belly with his sword. Amasa’s inside parts spilled out on the ground. Joab didn’t have to stab Amasa again—he was already dead.

Why? Because those people planned\par bad things against you, Lord.\par They planned to do bad things,\par but they didn’t succeed.\par

The Lord can make everyone’s advice useless.\par He can ruin all their plans.\par

There is no person who is wise enough to make a plan that can succeed if the Lord is against it.

Now, you must not fight against those things. If you do, the ropes around you will become tighter.

Then say, ‘In the same way, Babylon will sink. Babylon will rise no more. Babylon will sink because of the terrible things that I will make happen here.’”

Then all people will know that I am the Lord. And they will know that I have pulled my sword from its sheath. My sword won’t go back into its sheath again \{until it is finished\}.’”

The Lord my Master said these things. “There will be one disaster after another!

I trained them\par and made their arms strong.\par But they made evil plans against me.\par

\{Assyria,\} a man came from you.\par He made evil plans against the Lord.\par He gave evil advice.\par

And we destroy every proud thing that raises itself against the knowledge of God. And we capture (catch) every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.

Abishai said to David, “Today God has let you defeat your enemy. Let me pin Saul to the ground with his spear. I’ll only do it once!”

I will do everything I said I would do against Eli and his family. I will do everything from the beginning to the end.
