Now I will tell you about the Lord’s agreement.\par The Lord said to me,\par “Today I become your father! {\cf2\super [4]} \par And you are my son.\par
“Look at my Servant!\par I support him.\par He is the one I chose.\par And I am very pleased with him.\par I put my Spirit in him.\par He will judge the nations fairly.\par
The priest will offer the birds, one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. In this way, the priest will make that person pure [246] before the Lord.
“Here is my servant;\par I (God) have chosen him.\par I love him, and I am pleased with him;\par I will put my Spirit {\cf2\super [166]} on him,\par and he will judge the nations fairly.\par
While Peter was talking, a bright cloud came over them. A voice came from the cloud. The voice said, “This (Jesus) is my Son and I love him. I am very pleased with him. Obey him!”
The Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [60]} came down on him. The Spirit looked like a real dove. Then a voice came from heaven and said, “You are my Son and I love you. I am very pleased with you.”
The Father loves the Son, and the Father shows the Son all the things he does. \{This man was healed.\} But the Father will show the Son greater things than this to do. Then you will all be amazed.
And this brings praise to God because of his wonderful grace (kindness). God gave that grace to us freely. He gave us that grace in \{Christ,\} the One he loves.
Jesus heard the voice of the Greatest Glory (God). That was when Jesus received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice said, “This is my Son, and I love him. I am very pleased with him.”
We believe people when they say something is true. But what God says is more important. And this is what God told us: He told us the truth about his own Son.
And I heard a sound from heaven like the noise of flooding water and like the sound of loud thunder. The sound I heard was like people playing their harps. {\cf2\super [98]}
