“I feel sorry for these people. They have been with me for three days. And now they have nothing to eat.

Elijah saw very near him a cake baked over coals and a jar of water. Elijah ate and drank. Then he went back to sleep.

The Lord is as kind to his followers\par as a father is to his children.\par

Lord, all living things look to you\par for their food.\par And you give them their food\par at the right time.\par

The Lord is kind and merciful.\par The Lord is patient and full of love.\par

He will come back and comfort us again.\par He will crush our guilt\par and throw all of our sins\par into the deep sea.\par

When Jesus came there, he saw many, many people there. Jesus felt sorry for them, and he healed the people that were sick.

Jesus felt sorry for the blind men. Jesus touched their eyes and they were able to see. Then the men followed Jesus.

Jesus saw the many people and felt sorry for them. Jesus felt sorry for the people because the people were worried and helpless. The people were like sheep without a shepherd to lead them.

Jesus felt sorry for the man. So Jesus touched the man and said, “I want to heal you. Be healed!”

But Jesus did not allow the man to go. Jesus said, “Go home to your family and friends. Tell them about all the things the Lord did for you. Tell them that the Lord was good to you.”

So Jesus and his followers went away alone. They went in a boat to a place where there were no people.

When Jesus arrived there, he saw many people waiting. Jesus felt sorry for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd \{to care for them\}. So Jesus taught the people many things.

I should not send them home hungry. If they leave without eating, they will faint while going home. Some of these people live a long way from here.”

The spirit often throws him into a fire or into water to kill him. If you can do anything for him, please have pity on us and help us.”

So the son left and went to his father.

When the Lord (Jesus) saw her, he felt very sorry for her. Jesus said to her, “Don’t cry.”

For this reason Jesus had to be made like us his brothers and sisters in every way. Jesus became like people so that he could be their merciful and faithful high priest {\cf2\super [14]} in service to God. Then Jesus could bring forgiveness for the people’s sins.

The high priest himself is weak \{like all people\}. So he is able to be gentle with those people who don’t understand and who are doing wrong things.
