Luke 19:29

Jesus came near Bethphage and Bethany, towns near the hill called the Mount of Olives. {\cf2\super [302]} Jesus sent out two of his followers.

At that time, he will stand on the Mount of Olives, the hill east of Jerusalem. The Mount of Olives will split. Part of the mountain will move to the north, and part to the south. A deep valley will open up, from the east to the west.

Then Jesus left that place and went out of the city to Bethany. Jesus stayed there that night.

He said, “Go into the town you can see there. When you enter the town, you will find a young donkey tied there. No person has ever ridden this donkey. Untie the donkey, and bring it here to me.

Jesus was coming close to Jerusalem. He was already near the bottom of the Mount of Olives. {\cf2\super [303]} The whole group of followers were happy. They were very excited and praised God. They thanked God for all the powerful things they had seen.

During the day, Jesus taught the people in the temple {\cf2\super [337]} area. At night he went out of the city and stayed all night on the Mount of Olives. {\cf2\super [338]}

Jesus led his followers out of Jerusalem almost to Bethany. Jesus raised his hands and blessed his followers.

Then the apostles {\cf2\super [7]} went back to Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. (This mountain is about one-half mile from Jerusalem.)
