If a person touches them, it hurts like a spear made of wood and iron. {Yes, those people are like thorns.} They will be thrown in the fire, and they will be completely burned!

You will see the things that you truly enjoy.\par You will be free and grow like grass.\par The Lord’s servants will see his power,\par but the Lord’s enemies will see his anger.\par

Listen! There is a loud noise coming from the city and the temple. {\cf2\super [478]} That noise is the Lord punishing his enemies. The Lord is giving them the punishment they should have.

The Lord is a jealous God.\par The Lord punishes guilty people.\par The Lord punishes guilty people,\par and the Lord is very angry!\par The Lord punishes his enemies.\par He stays angry at his enemies.\par

But he will destroy completely his enemies.\par He will wash them away like a flood.\par He will chase his enemies\par into the darkness.\par

The king was very angry. The king sent his army to kill those people that killed his servants. And the army burned their city.

But the people in the kingdom hated the man. So the people sent a group to follow the man to the other country. In the other country, this group said, ‘We don’t want that man to be our king!’

He will come and kill those farmers! Then he will lease the land to some other farmers.”

The prophets {\cf2\super [334]} wrote many things about the time when God will punish his people. The time I am telling you about is the time when all these things must happen.

Some of the people will be killed by soldiers. Other people will be made prisoners and taken to every country. The holy city of Jerusalem will be walked on by non-Jewish people until their time is finished.

And now Christ waits there for his enemies to be put under his power. {\cf2\super [128]}

Then the people said to Samuel, “Where are the people who said they didn’t want Saul to rule as king? Bring those people here, and we will kill them!”
