“You must be fair when you judge people. And you must be fair when you measure and weigh things.

They were responsible for putting the special bread on the table in the temple. They also were responsible for the flour, the grain offerings, and the bread made without yeast. They were also responsible for the baking pans and the mixed offerings. They did all the measuring.

\{Some people use scales that don’t weigh things properly. They use those scales to cheat people.\} The Lord hates those false scales. But accurate scales please the Lord.

The Lord wants all scales and balances to be honest. He wants all business agreements to be fair.

The Lord hates people that cheat other people using weights and measures that are not fair.

“Stop cheating people. Use accurate scales and measures!

“You must be fair in judgment. You must not show special favor to poor people. And you must not show special favor to important people. You must be fair when you judge your neighbor.

Now hear what the Lord says:

If you judge other people, you will be judged in the same way you judge them. And the way you give to other people will be the way God gives to you.

“{Don’t carry trick weights for cheating people.} Don’t use weights that are too heavy or too light.

You must use weights and measures that are correct and accurate. Then you will live a long time in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
