“Jeremiah, speak this message\par to the people of Judah:\par ‘My eyes are filled with tears.\par I will cry night and day without stopping.\par I will cry for my virgin daughter. {\cf2\super [123]} \par I will cry for my people.\par Why? Because someone hit them\par and crushed them.\par They have been hurt very badly.\par
So make their children starve in a famine. {\cf2\super [154]} \par Let their enemies defeat them with swords.\par Let their wives be without children.\par Let the men from Judah be put to death.\par Make their wives into widows.\par Let the men from Judah be put to death.\par Let the young men be killed in battle.\par

But I (Jeremiah) am full of the Lord’s anger!\par I am tired of holding it in!\par “Pour out the Lord’s anger on the children\par that play in the street.\par Pour out the Lord’s anger on the young men\par that gather together.\par A man and his wife will both be captured.\par All the old people will be captured.\par
So what do you think should be done to a person who shows his hate for the Son of God? Surely that person should have a much worse punishment. Yes, that person should have a worse punishment for not showing respect for the blood (Jesus’ death) that began the new agreement. {\cf2\super [137]} That blood once made that person holy. And that person should have a worse punishment for showing his hate against the Spirit {\cf2\super [138]} of God’s grace (kindness).
