If I do this work of telling the Good News because it is my own choice, then I deserve a reward. But I have no choice. I must tell the Good News. I am only doing the duty that was given to me.
Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give. A person should not give if it makes him sad. And a person should not give if he thinks he is forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily.
“The whole world should be happy for God’s people!
{Why? Because he helps them}—
he punishes people who kill
his servants.
He gives his enemies
the punishment they deserve.
And he makes his land and people pure. [217] ”
He chooses the best part for himself.
He takes the king’s share.
The leaders of the people come to him.
He does what the Lord says is good.
He does what is right
for the people of Israel.”
