Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son. God gave his Son so that every person that believes in him would not be lost, but have life forever.
The angel said, “Don’t kill your son or hurt him in any way. Now I can see that you do respect and obey God. I see that you are ready to kill your son, your only son, for me.”
Then God said, “Take your son to the land of Moriah. At Moriah kill your son as a sacrifice [118] for me. This must be Isaac, your only son—the son you love. Use him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains there. I will tell you which mountain.”
This will happen when the special child is born. God will give a son to us. This son will be responsible for leading the people. His name will be “Wonderful Counselor, Powerful God, Father Who Lives Forever, Prince of Peace.”
I will tell you something. Go and learn what it means: ‘I don’t want animal sacrifices; I want you to show kindness to people.’ {\cf2\super [106]} I did not come to invite good people. I came to invite sinners.”
“The man had one person left to send to the farmers. This person was his son. The man loved his son. But he decided to send the son to the farmers. The son was the last person he could send. The man said, ‘The farmers will respect my son.’
The Word {\cf2\super [5]} became a man and lived among us. We saw his glory—the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father. The Word was full of grace (kindness) and truth.
No man has ever seen God. But the only Son (Jesus) is God. He is very close to the Father {\cf2\super [7]} (God). And the Son has shown us what God is like.
The person that believes in God’s Son is not judged (condemned). But the person that does not believe is already judged. Why? Because that person has not believed in God’s only Son.
The person that believes in the Son has life forever. But the person that does not obey the Son will never have that life. God’s anger stays with that person.”
I mean that while we were God’s enemies, God made friends with us through the death of his Son. So surely, now that we are God’s friends, God will save us through his Son’s life.
For a short time Jesus was made lower than the angels, but now we see him wearing a crown of glory and honor because he suffered and died. Because of God’s grace (kindness) Jesus died for every person.
The Father (God) has loved us so much! This shows how much he loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are God’s children. But the people in the world (people who don’t believe) don’t understand that we are God’s children, because they have not known him (God).
