The Word {\cf2\super [5]} became a man and lived among us. We saw his glory—the glory that belongs to the only Son of the Father. The Word was full of grace (kindness) and truth.
“Father, I want these people that you have given me to be with me in every place I am. I want them to see my glory. This is the glory you gave me because you loved me before the world was made.
God planned for those people to be like his Son. And he called (chose) those people. God called those people and made them right with him. And God gave his glory to those people that he made right.
And our faces are not covered. We all show the Lord’s glory. We are being changed to be like him. This change in us brings more and more glory. This glory comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
You believers are like a building that God owns. That building was built on the foundation that the apostles {\cf2\super [15]} and prophets {\cf2\super [16]} prepared. Christ himself is the most important stone {\cf2\super [17]} in that building.
God gave you the honor of believing in Christ. But that is not all. God also gave you the honor of suffering for Christ. Both these things bring glory to Christ.
Now we tell you the things that we have seen and heard. Why? Because we want you to have fellowship {\cf2\super [1]} together with us. The fellowship we share together is with God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ.
The person who obeys God’s commands lives in God. And God lives in that person. How do we know that God lives in us? We know because of the Spirit {\cf2\super [13]} that God gave us.
If God’s love is made perfect in us, then we can be without fear on the day when God judges us. We will be without fear, because in this world we are like him (Christ or God).
The walls of the city were built on twelve foundation stones. {\cf2\super [162]} On the stones were written the names of the twelve apostles {\cf2\super [163]} of the Lamb.
