Jesus gave these twelve apostles {\cf2\super [122]} some orders. Then he sent them \{to tell people about the kingdom\}. Jesus said, “Don’t go to the non-Jewish people. And don’t go into any town where the Samaritans {\cf2\super [123]} live.
So I tell you this: I send to you prophets {\cf2\super [355]} and wise men and teachers. You will kill some of these people. You will hang some of them on crosses. You will beat some of these people in your synagogues. {\cf2\super [356]} You will chase them from town to town.
Father, I pray that all people that believe in me can be one. You are in me and I am in you. I pray that these people can also be one in us, so that the world will believe that you sent me.
I will be in them, and you will be in me. So they will be completely one. Then the world will know that you sent me. And the world will know that you loved these people the same as you loved me.
I gave these men the teachings that you gave me. They accepted those teachings. They know that I truly came from you. And they believed that you sent me.
God sent his Son into the world. God did not send his Son to judge the world guilty. God sent his Son so that the world could be saved through his Son.
