But I tell you the truth. It is better for you that I go away. Why? Because when I go away I will send the Helper {\cf2\super [223]} to you. But if I did not go away, then the Helper would not come.
He went up above \{on the high mountain\},\par leading a parade of captives;\par to take the gifts from men, {\cf2\super [394]} \par including the people\par who turned against him.\par The Lord {\cf2\super [395]} God \{went up there\} to live.\par
What I say is true. During the time of Elijah {\cf2\super [74]} it did not rain in Israel for three and a half years. There was no food anywhere in the whole country. There were many widows {\cf2\super [75]} in Israel during that time.
But the Helper {\cf2\super [215]} will teach you everything. The Helper will cause you to remember all the things I told you. This Helper is the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [216]} that the Father will send in my name.
You heard me say to you, ‘I am leaving, but I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, then you would be happy that I am going back to the Father. Why? Because the Father is greater than I am.

Jesus was lifted up to heaven. Now Jesus is with God, at God’s right side. The Father (God) has now given the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [37]} to Jesus. The Holy Spirit is what God promised to give. So now Jesus is pouring out (giving) that Spirit. This is what you see and hear.
