And the woman said to Elijah, “You are a man of God. [194] Can you help me? Or did you come here only to cause me to remember all of my sins? Did you come here only to cause my son to die?”
While Jesus was saying these things, a leader of the synagogue {\cf2\super [113]} came to him. The leader bowed down before Jesus and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and touch her with your hand, and she will live again.”
(Mary is the same woman that later put perfume on the Lord (Jesus) and wiped his feet with her hair.) Mary’s brother was Lazarus, the man that was now sick.
Mary went to the place where Jesus was. When she saw Jesus, she bowed at his feet. Mary said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
