I am already judged guilty.\par So why should I keep trying?\par I say, ‘Forget it!’\par
I will say to God:\par ‘Don’t blame me!\par Tell me,\par What have I done wrong?\par What do you have against me?\par
You know I am innocent,\par but no one can save me\par from your power!\par
“But, I know what you are thinking,\par and I know you want to hurt me.\par
I did nothing wrong,\par but God is against me!\par God treated me like an enemy.\par
I am innocent, but the things I say\par make me seem guilty.\par I am innocent, but if I speak\par my mouth proves me guilty.\par
I say to myself,\par ‘The same thing happens to everybody.\par Innocent people die just like the guilty.\par God ends all their lives.’\par
The Lord will not abandon good people\par when they are trapped by bad people.\par God will not let good people\par be judged guilty.\par
So why should I make my heart pure?\par Why should I make my hands clean?\par
But still, you say,\par ‘I am innocent.\par God is not angry with me.’\par So I will also judge you guilty \{of lying\}.\par Why? Because you say,\par ‘I have done nothing wrong.’\par
