“Job, you argued with God All-Powerful.\par You judged me guilty of doing wrong.\par Now, will you admit that you are wrong?\par Will you answer me!”\par

I will say to God:\par ‘Don’t blame me!\par Tell me,\par What have I done wrong?\par What do you have against me?\par

But I don’t want to argue with you. I want to speak to God All-Powerful. I want to argue with God about my troubles.

I would explain to God my story.\par My mouth would be full of arguments\par to show I am innocent.\par

“Truly, God lives.\par And just as truly as God lives,\par He has truly been unfair with me.\par God All-Powerful made my life bitter.\par

“Why must a suffering person\par continue to live?\par Why give life to a person\par whose soul is bitter?\par

But God keeps their future a secret,\par and builds a wall around them\par to protect them.\par

God, you are mean to me.\par You use your power to hurt me.\par

“Oh, I wish someone would listen to me!\par Let me explain my side.\par I wish God All-Powerful\par would answer me.\par I wish he would write down\par what he thinks I did wrong.\par

Job, you are arguing with God!\par You think God should explain\par everything to you.\par

Job, brace yourself {\cf2\super [80]} \par and get ready to answer the questions\par that I will ask you.\par

The Lord answered Job and said to him:\par

Then Job answered God and said:\par

God, why do you guard me?\par Am I the sea or a sea monster?\par

A person can’t argue with God!\par God could ask 1,000 questions and\par no person could answer even one!\par

Did the Lord ask for any person’s help?\par Did any person teach the Lord to be fair?\par Did any person teach the Lord knowledge?\par Did any person teach the Lord to be wise?\par \{No! The Lord already knew these things\}.\par

The Lord is with me. He shows I am innocent. So no person will be able to show I am guilty. If someone wants to try to prove I am wrong, that person should come to me, and we will have a trial.

Babylon, I set a trap for you.\par And you were caught before you knew it.\par You fought against the Lord,\par so you were found and captured.\par

“You people keep repeating this proverb. Why? You say:

When they got their silver coin, these workers complained to the man that owned the land.

Doing that would make the Lord jealous {\cf2\super [75]} ! And we don’t want to do that, do we? No, because he is much stronger than we are.
