God named the light “day,” and he named the darkness “night.”

“Job, do you think you were the first\par person ever to be born?\par Were you born before the hills?\par

At night when it is dark, evil people\par go out and break into peoples’ houses.\par But during the daylight, they\par lock themselves in their own homes\par and avoid the light.\par

I said to the sea,\par ‘You can come this far, but no farther.\par This is where your proud waves\par will stop.’\par

Job, did you ever tell the morning light\par to grab the earth\par and shake the evil people\par out of their hiding places?\par

Surely you know these things, Job.\par You are very old and wise.\par You were alive when I made those things,\par weren’t you? {\cf2\super [82]} \par

“Job, where were you\par when I made the earth?\par If you are so smart,\par then answer me.\par

It seems like we were born yesterday.\par We are too young to know for sure.\par Our days on earth are very short,\par like a shadow.\par

God, you control the day,\par and you control the night.\par You made the moon and the sun.\par

“With the loving mercy of our God,\par a new Day from heaven\par will shine on us.\par

This makes us more sure about the things the prophets {\cf2\super [2]} said. And it is good for you to follow closely what the prophets said. The things they said are like a light shining in a dark place. You have that light until the day begins and the morning star brings new light to your minds.
