“Oh, I wish someone would listen to me!\par Let me explain my side.\par I wish God All-Powerful\par would answer me.\par I wish he would write down\par what he thinks I did wrong.\par

Listen carefully to what I say.\par Let me explain.\par

God, why do you avoid me,\par and treat me like your enemy?\par

But I don’t want to argue with you. I want to speak to God All-Powerful. I want to argue with God about my troubles.

“God, show me that you really support me.\par No other person will support me.\par

God’s anger burns against me.\par He calls me his enemy.\par

I shout, ‘He hurt me!’\par But I get no answer.\par Even if I call loudly for help,\par no person hears my cry for fairness.\par

“People have stood against me.\par I hope my enemies are punished\par like bad men should be punished.\par

“God, I cry out to you for help,\par but you don’t answer.\par I stand up and pray,\par but you don’t pay attention to me.\par

“But, surely no one will hurt a person\par that is already ruined and crying for help.\par

I am always sad and depressed,\par without relief.\par I stand up in the assembly\par and yell for help.\par

Then I would wear that sign\par around my neck.\par I would put it on my head\par like a crown.\par

You and I are the same\par in front of God.\par God used clay to make both of us.\par

So Job, God won’t listen to you\par when you say that you don’t see him.\par You say you are waiting for your chance\par to meet with God and prove\par that you are innocent.\par

“Job, you argued with God All-Powerful.\par You judged me guilty of doing wrong.\par Now, will you admit that you are wrong?\par Will you answer me!”\par

Lord, judge me.\par Prove that I have lived a pure life.\par I never stopped trusting the Lord.\par

“If your enemy is taking you to court, then become friends with him quickly. You should do that before you go to court. If you don’t become his friend, then he might give you to the judge. And the judge might give you to a guard to put you in jail.
