You must not be a cruel master to this person. You must respect your God.

You may even pass these foreign slaves on to your children after you die so that they will belong to your children. They will be your slaves forever. You may make slaves of these foreigners. But you must not be a cruel master over your own brothers, the people of Israel.

Masters, in the same way, be good to your slaves. Don’t say things to scare them. You know that the One who is your Master and their Master is in heaven. And that Master (God) judges every person the same.

Masters, give the things that are good and fair to your servants. Remember that you have a Master in heaven.
