Jeremiah wrote and sang some funeral songs for Josiah. And the men and women singers still sing those sad songs today. It became something the people of Israel always do—they sing a sad song for Josiah. Those songs are written in the book, Funeral Songs.

Don’t let that night produce anything.\par Let no happy shout be heard on that night.\par

Let that day’s morning star be dark.\par Let that night wait for the morning,\par but may that light never come.\par Don’t let it see the first rays of sunlight.\par

My Master, God All-Powerful, says,\par “People will be crying in the public places.\par People will be crying in the streets.\par People will hire the professional criers. {\cf2\super [71]} \par

‘We played flute music for you,\par but you did not dance;\par we sang a sad song,\par but you were not sad.’\par

Jesus and these followers went to the house of Jairus, the synagogue {\cf2\super [59]} leader. Jesus saw many people there crying loudly. There was much confusion.
