But God keeps their future a secret,\par and builds a wall around them\par to protect them.\par
If God tears down anything,\par people can’t build it again.\par If God puts a person in prison,\par people can’t free the person.\par
You have put chains on my feet.\par You watch every step I take.\par You watch every move I make.\par
God sends his army to attack me.\par They build attack towers around me.\par They camp around my tent.\par
But it is God who did wrong to me.\par He set his trap to catch me.\par
God has blocked my way\par so I can’t go through.\par He has hidden my path in darkness.\par
Those people would be happy\par to find their grave.\par They would rejoice\par to find their tomb.\par
You will not let my enemies take me.\par You will free me from their traps.\par
My friends have left me.\par They all avoid me like a person\par no one wants to touch.\par I am locked in the house\par and I can’t go out.\par
My eyes hurt from \{crying about\}\par all my suffering.\par Lord, I pray to you constantly!\par I lift my arms in prayer to you.\par
People of Jacob, this is true!\par Israel, you should believe this!\par So why do you say:\par “The Lord can’t see the way I live.\par God will not find me and punish me.”\par
The Lord shut me in, so I could not get out.\par He put heavy chains on me.\par
He has blocked up my path with stones.\par He has made my path crooked.\par
“So, I (the Lord) will block your \{(Israel’s) road with thorns. I will build a wall. Then she will not be able to find her paths.
