At that time God saw wisdom\par and thought about it.\par God saw how much wisdom was worth.\par And God approved of wisdom.\par

Yes, God is great.\par But we can’t understand his greatness.\par We don’t know how long God has lived.\par

“God takes up water from the earth\par and changes it into mist and rain.\par

No person can understand\par how God spreads the clouds out\par or how the thunder rumbles in the sky.\par

God grabs the lightning with his hands,\par and commands it to hit where he wants.\par

God fills the clouds with water,\par and scatters those thunderclouds.\par

Listen everyone!\par God’s voice sounds like thunder.\par Listen to the thundering sound\par that comes from God’s mouth.\par

God sends his lightning\par to flash across the whole sky.\par It flashed all over the earth.\par

Then after the lightning flashes,\par God’s roaring voice can be heard.\par God thunders with his wonderful voice!\par While the lightning flashes,\par God’s voice thunders.\par

God says to the snow,\par ‘Fall on the earth.’\par And God says to the rain,\par ‘Pour down on the earth.’\par

Who dug ditches in the sky\par for the heavy rain?\par Who made a path for the thunderstorm?\par

Who makes it rain\par even in places where no people live?\par

That rain gives plenty of water\par to that empty land\par and grass begins to grow.\par

God makes the clouds all over the earth.\par God makes the lightning and rain.\par And God makes the wind. {\cf2\super [627]} \par

God made the fire and hail,\par the snow and smoke,\par and all the stormy winds.\par

I was the first thing the Lord made,\par long ago in the beginning.\par

Foreign idols don’t have the power\par to bring rain.\par The sky does not have the power\par to send showers of rain down.\par You are our only hope.\par You are the One who made all these things.”\par

“I also stopped the rain—and it was three months before harvest time. So no crops grew. Then I let it rain on one city, but not on another city. Rain fell on one part of the country. But on the other part of the country, the land became very dry.

Pray to the Lord for rain in the springtime. The Lord will send the lightning and the rain will fall. And God will make the plants grow in each person’s field.
