Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you seen my servant Job? There is no person on earth like Job. Job is a good and faithful man. He worships God and refuses to do evil things. He still is faithful, even though you asked me to let you destroy everything he has for no reason.”

This is the story about the family of Noah. Noah was a good man all his life. Noah always followed God.

Joab answered, “Hey, I don’t want to destroy anything! I don’t want to ruin your town.

There was a man named Job that lived in the country of Uz. Job was a good and faithful man. Job worshiped God and refused to do evil things.

But if you destroy everything he has, I promise you that he will curse {\cf2\super [2]} you to your face.”

Then the day came for the angels {\cf2\super [1]} to meet with the Lord. Even Satan was there with those angels.

Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you seen my servant Job? There is no person on earth like Job. Job is a good and faithful man. He worships God and refuses to do evil things.”

I will continue to trust God\par even if God kills me. {\cf2\super [23]} \par But I will defend myself to his face.\par

The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you been?”

Satan answered, “Skin for skin! {\cf2\super [5]} A person will give everything he has to save his life.

God would just send storms to crush me.\par He would just give me more wounds\par for no reason.\par

I am innocent, but the things I say\par make me seem guilty.\par I am innocent, but if I speak\par my mouth proves me guilty.\par

Lord, judge me.\par Prove that I have lived a pure life.\par I never stopped trusting the Lord.\par

Be pure and honest.\par Peace loving people\par will have many descendants.\par

I was innocent and you supported me.\par You let me stand and serve you forever.\par

A good person will escape trouble, and that trouble will happen to some evil person.

Goodness protects a good, honest person. But evil defeats the person that loves to sin.

The person who lives right respects the Lord. But the person who is not honest hates the Lord.

The Lord hates the offerings that evil people give. But the Lord is happy to hear a good person’s prayers.

Good people live their lives trying to stay away from evil. The person who is careful with his life, is guarding his soul.

Jesus answered, “It is not this man’s sin or his parents’ sin that made him be blind. This man was born blind so that God could use him to show what great things God can do.

I don’t mean that I am already exactly like God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal. But I continue trying to reach that goal and to make it mine. Christ wants me to do that. That is the reason Christ made me his.

What great blessings there are for the person who is tempted and still continues strong. Why? Because after he has proved his faith, God will give him the reward of life forever. God promised this to all people who love him.

Why do these troubles happen? To prove that your faith is pure (true). This purity of faith is worth more than gold. Gold can be proved to be pure by fire, but gold will ruin. The purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ appears (comes).

Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong. He will support you and keep you from falling. He is the God that gives all grace (kindness). He called you to share in his glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever.
