God, does hurting me make you happy?\par It seems that you don’t care about\par what you made.\par Or maybe you are happy\par with the plans that bad people make?\par

Why do you persecute me like God does?\par Don’t you get tired of hurting me?\par

“Truly, God lives.\par And just as truly as God lives,\par He has truly been unfair with me.\par God All-Powerful made my life bitter.\par

But God keeps their future a secret,\par and builds a wall around them\par to protect them.\par

God, you are mean to me.\par You use your power to hurt me.\par

“Job, do you think that I am not fair?\par You say that I am guilty of doing wrong\par so that you will appear innocent!\par

So now, change your mind.\par Don’t be unfair, think again.\par I have done nothing wrong.\par

God, you watch over people.\par If I have sinned, fine,\par what can I do?\par Why did you use me for target practice?\par Did I become a problem for you?\par

God is always fair.\par God All-Powerful never changes\par the things that are right.\par

\{He will try to escape.\} But I (God) will catch him! He will be caught in my trap. And I will bring him to Babylonia—the land of the Chaldean people. But he will not be able to see where he is going. \{The enemy will poke out his eyes and make him blind.\}

The Lord my Master says these things:

They go to those countries for help,\par but I will trap them.\par I will throw my net over them,\par and I will bring them down like\par the birds of the sky.\par I will punish them for their agreements. {\cf2\super [73]} \par

“You will see armies all around Jerusalem. Then you will know that the time for the destruction of Jerusalem has come.
