Man’s life is like a flower. He grows quickly, and then dies away. Man’s life is like a shadow that is here for a short time, and then it is gone.

The evil person will be like a vine\par that loses its grapes before they ripen.\par That person will be like an olive tree that\par loses its buds.\par

People die from dawn to sunset,\par and no one even notices.\par They die and are gone forever.\par

It seems like we were born yesterday.\par We are too young to know for sure.\par Our days on earth are very short,\par like a shadow.\par

My life is almost finished,\par like the long shadows\par at the end of the day.\par I am like dry and dying grass.\par

But Lord, you will live forever!\par Your name will continue\par forever and ever!\par

Because of my sadness, I am losing weight. {\cf2\super [537]} \par

A person’s life is like a puff of air.\par A person’s life is like a passing shadow.\par

Evil people are like grass and green plants\par that quickly turn brown and die.\par

Lord, you gave me only a short life. {\cf2\super [236]} \par My short life is nothing,\par compared to you.\par Every person’s life is only like a cloud\par \{that quickly disappears\}.\par No person lives forever! {\cf2\super [237]} \par \i (SELAH {\cf2\super [238]})\i0 \par

So, Master, what hope do I have?\par You are my hope!\par

Wicked people live and die like weeds.\par And the worthless things they do\par will be destroyed forever.\par

Evil people don’t respect God, so those people won’t really get good things. Those evil people won’t live long lives. Their lives won’t be like the shadows that become longer and longer \{as the sun goes down\}.

You don’t know what will happen tomorrow! Your life is like a fog. You can see it for a short time, but then it goes away.
