Then Zophar from Naamah answered Job and said,

“Job, if you were really wise,\par you wouldn‘t answer with\par your worthless personal opinions!\par A wise man would not be so full\par of hot air.\par

Your long speeches never end!\par Why do you continue arguing?\par

“Job, when will you stop talking?\par Be quiet and listen.\par Let us say something.\par

“How long will you talk like that?\par Your words blow like a strong wind.\par

Lord, don’t let those liars live.\par Make bad things happen\par to those bad people.\par

A person who talks too much gets himself into trouble. A wise person learns to be quiet.

Be very careful when you go to worship God. It is better to listen \{to God\} than to give sacrifices {\cf2\super [23]} like foolish people. Foolish people often do bad things, and they don’t even know it.

Bad dreams come with too many worries,\par and a fool with too many words.\par

Some of the Epicurean and some of the Stoic philosophers {\cf2\super [353]} argued with him.

My dear brothers and sisters, always be more willing to listen than to speak. Don’t become angry easily.
