Jeremiah 39:17

But I will save you on that day, Ebed-Melech.’ This is the message of the Lord. ‘You won’t be given to the people you are afraid of.

After all these things happened, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision. [84] God said, “Abram, don’t be afraid. I will defend you. And I will give you a great reward.”

David said to Gad, “I am really in trouble! But the Lord is very merciful. So let the Lord punish us. Don’t let my punishment come from people.”

Elijah answered, “As sure as the Lord All-Powerful lives, I promise that I will stand before the king today.”

So Obadiah went to King Ahab. He told him where Elijah was. King Ahab went to meet Elijah.

Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid! The army that fights for us is larger than the army {that fights for Aram}!”

\{God says,\}\par “Call for me when you have troubles!\par I will help you.\par And then you can honor me.”\par

All those people will fight against you,\par but they will not defeat you.\par Why? Because I am with you,\par and I will save you.”\par This message is from the Lord.\par

Some of the royal officials heard what Jeremiah was preaching. They were: Shephatiah son of Mattan, Gedaliah son of Pashhur, Jehucal son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur son of Malkijah. Jeremiah was telling all the people this message:

So King Darius gave the order. They brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den (cage). The king said to Daniel, “I hope the God you worship saves you!”

“Then the king will answer, ‘I tell you the truth. Anything you did for any of my people here, {\cf2\super [389]} you also did for me.’
