Jerusalem had many people, but none of those people became leaders for her. None of the children she raised became guides to lead her.

God doesn’t abandon innocent people.\par He doesn’t help evil people.\par

I look around,\par and I don’t see any of my friends.\par I have no place to run.\par No person is trying to save me.\par

And Lord, you forced all my friends\par and loved ones to leave me.\par Only darkness stayed to be with me.\par

I am the Lord your God.\par I am holding your right hand.\par And I tell you:\par Don’t be afraid!\par I will help you.\par

It will not be like the Agreement I made with their ancestors. {\cf2\super [260]} I made that Agreement when I took them by the hand and brought them out of Egypt. I was their Master, but they broke that Agreement.” This message is from the Lord.

My flock wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. My flock was scattered over all the face of the earth. There was no one to search or to look for them.’”

The virgin {\cf2\super [58]} of Israel has fallen.\par She will not get up any more.\par She was left alone, lying in the dirt.\par There is no person to lift her up.\par

Stay away from the Pharisees. {\cf2\super [208]} They lead the people, but they are like blind men leading other blind men. And if a blind man leads another blind man, then both men will fall into a hole.”

Jesus saw the many people and felt sorry for them. Jesus felt sorry for the people because the people were worried and helpless. The people were like sheep without a shepherd to lead them.

So Jesus held the blind man’s hand and led him out of the village. Then Jesus spit on the man’s eyes. Jesus put his hands on the blind man and asked him, “Can you see now?”

Now the Lord will touch you and you will be blind. For a time you will not be able to see anything—not even the light from the sun.”

Saul got up from the ground. He opened his eyes, but he could not see. So the men with Saul held his hand and led him into Damascus.

It will not be like the agreement\par that I gave to their fathers.\par That is the agreement I gave\par when I took them by the hand\par and led them out of Egypt.\par They did not continue following the agreement I gave them,\par and I turned away from them,\par says the Lord.\par
