“You should tell these things to Hezekiah, the king of Judah:
Hezekiah trusted in the Lord God of Israel. There was no person like Hezekiah among all the kings of Judah before him or after him.
They tell me:\par “Call to the Lord for help.\par Maybe he will save you.\par If he likes you so much,\par then surely he will rescue you!”\par
“Hear this message from the great king, the king of Assyria:
Don’t believe Hezekiah when he says, ‘Trust in the Lord! The Lord will save us. The Lord will not let the king of Assyria defeat the city.’
Did any of the gods in the other countries save their land from me? No! Can the Lord save Jerusalem from me? No!”
The commander told them, “Tell Hezekiah this is what the great king, the king of Assyria says:
And you were proud and said things against me. You spoke too many times and I have heard every word you said! Yes, I heard you.”
He trusted God. So let God save him now, if God really wants him. He himself said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”
