If you people of Judah don’t listen to the Lord,\par I will hide and cry.\par Your pride will cause me to cry.\par I will cry very hard.\par My eyes will overflow with tears.\par Why? Because the Lord’s flock {\cf2\super [111]} \par will be captured.\par
The Lord says:\par “A sound will be heard in Ramah.\par It will be bitter crying and\par much sadness.\par Rachel {\cf2\super [253]} will be crying for her children.\par Rachel will refuse to be comforted,\par because her children are dead.”\par
Oh, my sadness and worry is making\par my stomach hurt.\par I am bent over in pain.\par Oh, I am so scared.\par My heart is pounding inside me.\par I can’t keep quiet. Why?\par Because I have heard the trumpet blow.\par The trumpet is calling the army to war!\par
My people, put on sackcloth {\cf2\super [47]} ,\par and roll in the ashes. {\cf2\super [48]} \par Cry loud for the dead people.\par Cry like you lost an only son.\par Do these things because the destroyer\par will come against us very quickly.\par
If my head was filled with water,\par and if my eyes were a fountain of tears,\par I would cry day and night\par for my people that have been destroyed.\par
\{The people say,\}\par ‘Let those women come quickly\par and cry for us.\par Then our eyes will fill with tears,\par and streams of water will come\par out of our eyes.’\par
My eyes are worn out with tears!\par My insides are upset!\par My heart feels like it has been poured\par on the ground!\par I feel this way because of the destruction\par of my people.\par Children and babies are fainting.\par They are fainting in the public squares\par of the city.\par
They will shave their heads for you.\par They will put on clothes of sadness.\par They will cry for you like someone crying\par for a person that died.\par
I will be very sad about what will happen.\par I will go without shoes and clothes.\par I will cry like a dog. {\cf2\super [11]} \par I will mourn like a bird. {\cf2\super [12]} \par
“A sound was heard in Ramah.\par It was bitter crying\par and much sadness.\par Rachel cries for her children;\par and she cannot be comforted,\par because her children are dead.”\par \i (Jeremiah 31:15)\i0 \par
