So, be sad, you ships from Tarshish. {\cf2\super [229]} \par Your place of safety (Tyre)\par will be destroyed.\par

The faraway lands are waiting for me.\par The great cargo ships are ready to sail.\par Those ships are ready to bring\par your children from faraway lands.\par They will bring silver and gold with them\par to honor the Lord your God,\par the Holy One of Israel.\par The Lord does wonderful things for you.\par

I will put a mark on some of the people—\{I will save them\}. I will send some of these saved people to the nations Tarshish, {\cf2\super [480]} Libya, {\cf2\super [481]} Lud {\cf2\super [482]} (the land of archers {\cf2\super [483]}), Tubal, {\cf2\super [484]} Greece, and all the faraway lands. Those people have never heard my teachings. Those people have never seen my Glory. {\cf2\super [485]} So the saved people will tell the nations about my glory.

The ships of Tarshish carried the things you sold.

You will take the land from the people you find there. You must destroy all of their carved statues and idols. You must destroy all of their high places. [378]

“And the merchants {\cf2\super [132]} of the earth will cry and be sad for her (Babylon). They will be sad because now there is no one to buy the things they sell.

And one third of the living things in the sea died, and one third of the ships were destroyed.
