The man walked east with a tape measure in his hand. He measured 1,000 cubits. {\cf2\super [464]} Then he told me to walk through the water at that place. The water was only ankle deep.

The Lord brought me there. There was a man there that looked \{shiny\} like \{polished\} bronze. That man had a cloth tape measure and a measuring rod in his hand. He was standing by the gate.

The man led me out through the north gate and then around the outside to the outer gate on the east side. The water was flowing out on the south side of the gate.

The man measured another 1,000 cubits. Then he told me to walk through the water at that place. There, the water came up to my knees. Then he measured another 1,000 cubits and told me to walk through the water at that place. There, the water was waist deep.

Then I looked up, and I saw a man holding a rope for measuring things.

The Lord says,\par ‘I will be a wall of fire around her,\par protecting her.\par And to bring glory to that city,\par I will live there.’”\par

Listen! My Father has promised you something; I will send it to you. But you must stay in Jerusalem until you have received that power from heaven.”

Jesus was lifted up to heaven. Now Jesus is with God, at God’s right side. The Father (God) has now given the Holy Spirit {\cf2\super [37]} to Jesus. The Holy Spirit is what God promised to give. So now Jesus is pouring out (giving) that Spirit. This is what you see and hear.

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, {\cf2\super [18]} and they began to speak different languages. The Holy Spirit was giving them the power to do this.

Then I was given a measuring rod as long as a walking stick. I was told, “Go and measure the temple {\cf2\super [80]} of God and the altar, {\cf2\super [81]} and count the people worshiping there.

The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod made of gold. The angel had this rod to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
